The RMAI®
instrument from Pearson Reid London House helps provide a standardized measure
of potential for success in retail management and is ideal for helping select
dealers, unit
managers, assistant managers, and franchisee candidates. The
test helps evaluate an
individual's interest, motivation, and knowledge about
retail management. The
RMAI®
measures the following:

| Background and Work Experience | Management-related education as well as training experience. |
| Management and Leadership Interest | Candidates' interest in management and supervisory positions, as well as attitudes and behaviors that facilitate strong leadership performance. |
| Management Responsibility | The extent to which individuals feel responsible for and in control of their work performance and chances for advancement. |
| Understanding Management Procedures and Practices | Candidates' understanding of basic retail management practices and common sense in handling customer situations. |
| Customer Service | How well candidates understand customer needs and the impact of employee behaviors on buying decisions. |
| Managerial Arithmetic | Basic math ability as it relates to inventory, payroll and profit analysis. |
| Energy Level | Candidates' energy level, work pace and endurance to identify high achievers. |
| Management Orientation | Candidates' self-report of personal traits associated with management success. |
| Job Stability | Work values that encourage a long-term outlook on employment. |
| Business Ethics | Attitudes toward upholding ethical business standards and practices. |
| Validity / Accuracy | The degree to which a candidate understood and carefully completed the inventory. |
